"To Work on the Voice is to Work on the Self"
All the voice work that I do centres around resonating the voice in the major energy centres of the body. The exercises I use are designed to release deeply held emotional and physical tensions thereby clearing the way for more positive and self empowering energies to flow freely through the body, psyche and spirit. By linking the voice to psychodynamics we can understand how past experiences continue to influence our lives in the present moment and move through the limitations of these patterns to new insights, energies and experiences which come from a place of greater authenticity.
The human voice is a gateway to the unconscious and as an intuitive, when working with INDIVIDUALS I am able to tune in to what the voice is expressing from the unconscious out of reach of the mind's control. This is a gentle but deep process.
I work with GROUPS using a series of vocal release exercises which resonate the voice in the seven major energy centres of the body. The work is interspersed with other art forms to aid reflection and insight.
In weekend and week long INTENSIVES I offer a synthesis of both working methods, working individually with each participant within a group situation so that we can offer insight and support to each other whilst reflecting on our own issues in response to "witnessing" others.
Workshops for ACTORS and PERFORMERS are designed to give participants the opportunity to contact and express their individual authenticity through the innate power of a truly liberated voice, enabling them to bring a sense of groundedness, presence and gravitas to their work. Participants come to understand through empirical experience that the voice can come from a much deeper place than is usually the case, and they learn to access its power through a process of "allowing" which brings a sense of relaxation and ease to natural voice production.
